Borussia Dortmund director Michael Zorc said the Bundesliga champions are keen to hold on to centre-back Neven Subotic.
The Serbia international’s current deal is due to expire in the summer of 2014, but Dortmund have offered the centre-back a two-year extension until 2016 as they aim to keep Subotic at the Signal Iduna Park.
“We have held talks with Neven, and it is our intention to extend his stay at Dortmund,” Zorc told Bild.
Subotic, 24, joined Borussia Dortmund from Mainz in the summer of 2008, and has since developed into an undisputed key player at the German champions.
The defender has made over 100 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund, winning two Bundesliga titles and a DFB Pokal during his four years at the club.
