There were plenty of debatable points when it came to officiating in Chelsea’s crunch clash with Leicester City on Tuesday, most of them involving Timo Werner. He was first denied a penalty after getting clipped from behind inside the box by Youri Tielemans, then had a goal (rightly) ruled out for offside, then won the penalty that Jorginho put away to double the home team’s lead. He also failed to score from several promising situations. He eventually made way for Olivier Giroud in the final minute of the 90.
However, there was no dampening his spirit as Mike Dean blew the final whistle and the scoreboard read 2-1.
