Competition: Premier League
Market: Sunderland to get relegated
Odds: 1/3 @ Betfair

With Sunderland having succumbed to three straight league defeats in the space of just nine days, Gus Poyet’s men will be feeling the pressure. They failed to take advantage of sides around them having taken points off each other, and now find themselves bottom of the table as a result.

Betfair are giving odds of 1/3 for the Black Cats to go down. They have amassed just 25 points in 30 games. While they do have more games still to play than that of their rivals, Poyet’s side are in appalling form and that will convince very few they can haul themselves from the drop zone.

Following their recent 2-1 defeat at home to West Ham United at the end of March, Sunderland had lost their fifth game in six in the league. After doing the double over Newcastle this season, the Black Cats were in a respectable 14th place. But their winless run has seen them plummet back down again.

Their run-in is extremely difficult too. Tottenham (away), Everton (home), Manchester City (away), Chelsea (away), Cardiff City (home), Manchester United (away), West Bromwich Albion (home), Swansea City (home).

Can they stay up?
