Competition: Premier League
Market: Sunderland to stay up
Odds: 6/5 @ Bet 365
Sunderland recently appointed manager Sam Allardyce after Dick Advocaat resigned from his post, and supporters are now confident of a turnaround under the experienced boss. The Black Cats are desperate for change following a woeful start to the new season, and their newest arrival certainly has the nous to achieve survival given his track record in management.
Currently 19th and without a win, Sunderland are in dire straits. They have conceded more goals than any other club in the Premier League after eight games, and are coming off the back of three defeats from their last four outings. Given the North -East outfit have finished in the bottom-half of the division in each of the last four seasons, Allardyce has a tough task to turn them around.
However, the 60-year-old has a vast experienced coaching background at the top level, managing the likes of Bolton, Blackburn, Newcastle United and West Ham United. He’s impressively kept up underdogs in the past, and Bet 365 are giving odds of 6/5 for Sunderland to avoid relegation as a result of Allardyce’s arrival.
