Sunderland to bid for Barcelona youngster

Daily Mail is reporting that Sunderland are planning a January bid for Barcelona midfielder Alen Halilovic.

The Croatian footballer joined the Catalans in the summer from Dinamo Zagreb and has been playing for the club’s B side in the second division.

However, the club officials feel he is ready for top flight football and plan to loan him out in the winter transfer window.

According to Daily Mail, Sunderland have taken notice and are ready to try and recruit the youngster on loan until the end of the season.

La Liga high-flyers Celta Vigo are keen as well, and it is important to note that the Sky Blues have already signed quite a few talented youngsters from Camp Nou.

Alen Halilovic, 18, has already earned six Croatia caps, while scoring 7 goals in 44 league games for Dinamo Zagreb.

He is regarded as one of Europe’s hottest prospects and is likened to Real Madrid star Luka Modric for both his style of play and appearance.
