Sunderland bring in Argentina shot stopper Utsari

Sunderland have signed goalkeeper Oscar Ustari on a short term deal until the end of the season, ESPN understands.

The Argentina international will go straight into the squad for tomorrow evening’s Capital One Cup semi-final second leg against Manchester United to provide back up for Vito Manonne.

The Black Cats had been on the lookout for more depth after Kieron Westwood, who played the majority of the league games during the first part of the season, was ruled out with a shoulder injury.

Ustari had been at Almeria, but the La Liga side decided to rescind his contract with the 27 year old having made just four appearances for the club, all of which came in the Copa Del Rey.
Sunderland go in to tomorrow evening’s game against the Premier League champions with a 2-1 lead from the first leg, and can be backed at a price of 7/4 to make the final at Wembley on March 2nd.
