Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is reportedly keen on signing Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko in the January transfer window.
The Mirror reports that the Black Cats are leading the chase for the Russian forward, who’s agent Oliver Wendt hinted yesterday that his client could leave White Hart Lane in the current transfer window.
Wendt said: “There is interest from some clubs in England and Germany, but Roman has two more years on his contract.
“It is not in our hands if he can move. The decision is Tottenham’s if they let him go or not.”
Sunderland are looking to bring in a replacement for Darren Bent, who joined Aston Villa earlier this week. The Black Cats will also be without on loan striker Danny Welbeck for two months following knee surgery.
