Sunderland are interested in signing Robbie Gotts from Leeds United before the summer transfer window in England closes later this month, according to The Northern Echo. It has been reported that the League One club are hoping secure the services of the midfielder on a season-long loan deal.
Officials from Sunderland have held talks with Premier League club Leeds over signing the 20-year-old, who can operate as a midfielder or as a right-back. However, Swindon Town, Hull City and Huddersfield Town are also interested in the youngster, with Leeds keen on sending him on loan to a club where he will have the best chance of playing first-team football.
Gotts is a very good and promising young versatile footballer who could do with first-team football in a competitive domestic league. A loan move to a club in the Championship would be better than joining a team in League One due to the level and standards of football in the second tier.
