Sunderland eye Martin loan deal

Sunderland are interested in securing a loan deal for Derby Country striker Chris Martin.

The North East outfit are on the lookout for reinforcements as they desperately attempt to avoid a second straight relegation having won just four of their twenty-seven Championship matches so far.

Martin has started just five games for the Rams so far this season and has moved further down the pecking order following the arrival of Cameron Jerome from Norwich City earlier this week.

The twenty-nine year old has racked up one hundred and eighty-one appearances in all competitions for the East Midlands outfit since signing from Norwich City initially on loan in February 2013, scoring sixty-three goals.

He spent the majority of last season on loan at Fulham where he scored ten goals in thirty games while internationally he has been capped a total of seventeen times for Scotland, scoring for them on three occasions.
