Sunderland are weighing up a bid for Lazio striker Sergio Floccari, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
After signing Emanuele Giaccherini and Modibo Diakite, Black Cats boss Paolo Di Canio looks set to do some more shopping in Italy.
According to the latest reports, he is keen on adding Sergio Floccari to his ranks, with the player’s agent Claudio Vigorelli already in England to negotiate a deal.
Norwich are also showing interest in the 31-year-old, but it would appear as though Sunderland are leading the chase.
Floccari has one year left on his deal at Stadio Olimpico, meaning he will be available on a cut-price deal.
The experienced forward has spent last season playing second fiddle to Miroslav Klose, but he has done well every time he was called upon and managed to score a total of 10 goals in all competitions.
Seeing as how Lazio are currently in the market for a new striker, Floccari is likely to be interested in a move to England.
