Sunderland are the latest team to have joined the race for James McFadden, The Mirror understands.
The Scotland international has been a free agent since leaving Birmingham in May and he is now looking for a new club.
The striker has recently recovered from a difficult injury and is currently training with Wolves.
Wolverhampton want to assess the player’s condition before offering him a contract, but they are not the only side interested in McFadden.
Sunderland have also expressed interest in the 28-year-old with Steve Bruce seeing McFadden as a perfect solution to his attacking problems.
