Championship side Sunderland are aiming to bolster their ranks during the January transfer window and some of the names are already being added to the list of potential targets.
Chris Coleman was officially announced as the new Sunderland boss this weekend and former Wales manager is already aiming to bring a duo of Welsh internationals to the Stadium of Light to help him mount a precarious challenge of surviving the cut in the second tier of the English football.
First and foremost, the Welsh newspaper claim that Coleman is aiming to get Liverpool starlet Ben Woodburn, who earned his Wales senior cap under Coleman during the World Cup qualifiers.
The 18-year-old versatile Liverpool forward does not feature in Jurgen Klopp’s plans this season and Coleman believes a loan move to the Championship would benefit his development.
Additionally, Coleman is keen on another Liverpool man – goalkeeper Danny Ward.
The 24-year-old custodian is yet to feature for Reds this season and could be given a chance to earn valuable playing time over at Sunderland in the second part of the season.
