Sunderland may land Ferdinand

Defender Anton Ferdinand has been linked with a move from West Ham United to either Sunderland or Tottenham Hotspur with Newcastle United ready to pounce if the deals should hit any snags.

SunderlandÂ’s boss Roy Keane is likely to make an effort to bring Ferdinand to the Stadium Of Light, who are seen to be in pole position to sign the young defender.

The asking fee is expected to be in the region of ₤7 million.
