Sunderland manager Roy Keane has gone on a wild shopping spree this summer and he looks set to continue throwing money around, according to The Guardian.
After losing Kenwyne Jones to a knee injury, which will keep the Trinidad & Tobago striker out until next year, Keane is desperate to add to his striking department. The latest name to be linked with a move to The Black Cats is Manchester United’s Louis Saha.
The Frenchman is known for his injury problems and it seems like Sir Alex Ferguson has finally decided to cash in on the player he bought from Fulham in 2003. According to the same report, however, the Man Utd gaffer is unlikely to get the money he wants from Keane.
The report says that Man Utd have set an asking price of £10 million, but Keane’s common sense tells him that paying this much money for a player who has spent the vast majority of the past five years on the treatment table is not good business.
Now Keane will try to persuade his old boss to lower the price for Saha.
