Roy Keane continues to impress very early in his career as a football manager. After pulling off some decent deals to bring in Steed Malbranque, Teemu Tainio, Pascal Chimbonda and El Hadji Diouf, he has now swooped for former Liverpool striker, Djibril Cisse.
Cisse stated that he wants to the Premier League after two seasons with Marseille and he had Manchester City and Sunderland to choose from, according to The Guardian. The same report mentions that Cisse will initially join Sunderland on a season-long loan deal with a view to a permanent move.
Cisse never managed to get going in his two, injury hampered years at Liverpool, but since his return from a horrible, broken leg, he has impressed in the French Ligue 1 with Marseille and he has managed to score 16 league goals last season. Roy Keane will be hoping for a similar return from the French striker at The Stadium of Light.
