Sunderland are ready to increase their pursuit of Swansea City forward Andre Ayew, according to Talksport.
The Black Cats are on the lookout for new attacking options as they look to secure their Premier League status, and have identified Ayew as their primary target.
The North East side registered their interest in the Ghana international earlier this month but were shot down as the South Wales side refused to sell.
However, an improved bid which is set to include former Swans star Fabio Borini is set to be lodged ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.
Ayew has made twenty-five appearances for Swansea in all competitions since signing from Marseille, scoring eight goals.
Sunderland drew with Bournemouth at the weekend and remain in the relegation zone, four points from safety.
They face title favourites Manchester City on Tuesday, and can be backed at a price of 6/1 for the win.
