Sunderland are weighing up move for Paris Saint-Germain defender Sylvain Armand, Le Parisien has revealed.
The experienced defender, who can play in the centre of defence or on the left, lost his starting place with the arrival of Diego Lugano and Milan Bisevac.
Having started just six Ligue 1 games this term, Armand is looking to leave Parc des Princes in the summer in search of first team football.
According to Le Parisien, Sunderland have been alerted by the situation and they are pondering a summer bid for the player’s services.
The French newspaper claims that Armand’s representative visited Northern England last week to speak to Sunderland officials.
However, the Black Cats face a stiff competition for the 31-year-old, seeing that French clubs Bordeaux and Montpellier are also keen.
Armand has featured in 15 Ligue 1 games this season, while he started all 5 Europa League games for the Saints.
