Survival all that matters, says Pratley

Bolton midfielder Darren Pratley is confident his side will stay in the Premier League this season but knows they need to start performing soon.

The Wanderers crashed to their 19th defeat of the season this weekend, losing 2-0 to table-topping Manchester City.

The game at Etihad Stadium marked their fourth defeat in a row in the league, leaving them 19th on the table and in danger of being relegated to the Championship.

Coyle’s side along with Wigan, Blackburn, Wolves and QPR make up the bottom five, who are separated by just two points, and Pratley feels his side must win that mini-league if they are to survive.

“We’ve got 11 cup finals now and we’ve got to try our best to stay in the league,” Pratley said.

“There are five teams playing for two spots now. I think things can change and we can start picking up points.”

“The dressing room is strong. The manager has got us focused and he gives us so much belief. Hopefully we can repay him. We’ve got to win, no matter what now.”

“Bolton being in the Premier League is the only thing that matters at the minute.”
