Malaysia reached the final of the Suzuki Cup after sealing a 2-0 aggregate win over Vietnam on Saturday.
A 0-0 draw in the second leg at the My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi was enough to ensure Malaysia’s progression as they had defeated Vietnam 2-0 in Wednesday’s first leg in Kuala Lumpur.
In a second leg bereft of goalscoring opportunities, the most notable event occurred when Vietnam’s Thanh Luong Pham was given a second yellow card for a foul after 72 minutes.
Either Indonesia or the Philippines will be the other finalist, with the second leg of their semi-final tie to be played on Sunday.
Indonesia won the first leg 1-0.
