Swansea City have celebrated their promotion to the English Premier League with an open top bus parade on Tuesday.

The Swans booked their promotion to the top flight with a 4-2 victory over Reading in the Championship playoff final at Wembley just a day previous, and enjoyed the celebrations with the club’s supporters.

The win ensured Swansea would play in the top division in England for the first time in 28 years and they will become the first ever Welsh side to play in the Premier League, which was formed prior to the 1992-93 season.

Striker Scott Sinclair was the hero of Monday’s victory, bagging a hat-trick which included two penalties and he said it’s hard to describe the feeling of elation.

“It’s very hard to describe what you are feeling,” Sinclair said.

“It’s still sinking in that we’re actually playing Premier League football next year and to sing that to 30 or 40 thousand fans is just amazing.”

Sinclair is looking forward to playing in the top flight for the club and cannot wait for the challenge of testing himself against the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.

“It’s going to be a great challenge for every player,” he said.

“Everyone is going to be going into the games buzzing and happy to be in the Premier League.”
