Daily Mail has suggested that both Swansea and Manchester United are showing interest in Saint Etienne defender Kurt Zouma.
Zouma, 18, is already considered a first team regular at Stade Geoffroy Guichard and has seen his name linked with a number of high-profile clubs.
Daily Mail understands that Swansea were the first side to make an official proposal for the player’s services, but only to have their bid rejected by the French club.
Manchester United are closely monitoring the talented centre-back as they continue their search for a long-term replacement for Rio Ferdinand.
Despite his fragile age, Zouma has already made 31 Ligue 1 appearances for les Verts and has been earning rave reviews for his performances in the top flight.
Saint Etienne chiefs are desperate to keep hold of their prized asset, but it is unlikely they will stand in the player’s way in case of an attractive proposal from the English Premier League.
