Swansea City join race for Terry

Swansea City have entered the race to sign former Chelsea captain John Terry, according to the Mirror.

The Welsh outfit are hopeful that manager Paul Clement, who worked with Terry at Stamford Bridge for some years, most notable as Carlo Ancelotti’s assistant where together they won the double.

Since ending his twenty-two year association with the Blues, Terry has been linked with a move to a number of clubs with Championship outfits and sides from abroad also in the race.

Should he move to the Liberty Stadium the thirty-six year old would almost certainly pass the five hundred Premier League appearance mark having reached four hundred and ninety-two with Chelsea.

In total, he played seven hundred and seventeen times in all competitions, scoring sixty-seven times and winning no less than fifteen major honours.

He was capped seventy-eight times for England, scoring six times and was named in the team of the tournament at the 2006 World Cup.
