Swansea City are on the verge of signing Ghana international Andre Ayew on a free transfer, according to Sky Sports.
Aside from loan spells with Lorient and Aries-Avignon, the forward has spent his entire career so far with Marseille though his contract ran out as the 2014/15 campaign concluded.
Since making his debut in the 2007/08 campaign, the 25 year old racked up over two hundred appearances for L’OM in all competitions, scoring sixty goals while internationally he has eleven goals in sixty-two caps for his country.
Garry Monk is on the lookout for a new goal threat this summer having not yet found a permanent replacement for Wilfried Bony, who moved to Manchester City in January.
Despite leaving halfway through the campaign, Bony finished the season as the Swans’ top league goal-scorer with nine, with Sung-Yong Ki getting eight and both Bafetimbi Gomis and Gylfi Sigurdsson scoring seven.
