Swansea midfielder Kemy Agustien thinks his side deserved a point for their efforts against Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday.
The Swans went down 1-0 to Everton after Leon Osmon headed home from a corner-kick just past the hour mark.
Agustien believes his team deserved to get a result from the match, having contained Everton’s aerial attack for so long, only to see the diminutive Osman score from close range.
“The only chances they created came from set-pieces, but we didn’t stop their smallest player from heading a corner for the goal,” Agustien said.
“I was impressed with (Maraoune) Fellaini. He’s a good player. But we did well against him. We stopped him at set-pieces, but then they have their smallest player getting a goal and that’s very frustrating from our point of view.”
“But we still created a couple of chances and I thought we should have got something from the game.”
The 25-year-old is hoping to make an impact on the first-team during the festive period, home matches against QPR and Tottenham in the next week, but Agustien insists the club takes priority over his personal ambition.
“Everyone knows what I can do. I try my best for the team, and the manager has given me confidence and opportunities,” Agustien said.
“Of course, I want him to think about me for the next game, but it’s about the team – not myself – and whatever he wants me to do I will do it.”
“We have to pick up points at home now and I think we will do that because we have done very well at the Liberty.”
