The likes of Swansea and Fiorentina are locked in the battle for Montpellier midfielder Benjamin Stambouli, according to L’Equipe.
With his contract due to expire in a year’s time, the 23-year-old will be allowed to leave if a club meet the €5 million asking price.
According to L’Equipe, Premier League outfit Swansea have submitted an official offer for his services, while Fiorentina have reignited their interest as well.
Stambouli was in the starting line-up as Montpellier lost to Bordeaux on the opening day of the new season, but everything suggests he will be leaving la Paillade in the coming days.
The France Under-21 international already boasts a great deal of top flight experience, having featured in 111 Ligue 1 fixtures for the club.
And the fact he has already stated his preference for English Premier League is enough to suggest Swansea are in a good position to secure his signature.
