Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers says only conceding two goals at home so far this season is an “incredible achievement”.
Only reigning champions Manchester United and Bolton have been able to score at the Liberty Stadium this season against the newly promoted side, which Rodgers says proves how well his side have fitted back into top-flight football.
“We certainly enjoy playing here. It’s a wonderful league it is fantastic whether you are home or away,” Rodgers said.
“Goodison Park during the week was a great experience for our players. Of course we lost the game but our motivation is renewed to win but like you say it has been a real fortress at home.”
“We have only conceded two goals at home which is an incredible achievement from the players but if we continue that form then it bodes well for us.”
Swansea host another of the Premier League’s new teams, QPR, on Tuesday, and Rodgers was confident his side could bounce back immediately after their 1-0 loss to Everton on Wednesday.
“The players are really, really upbeat and I think it is a massive strength of this group is that we reflect and we never get too down whenever we draw a game or lose a game,” he said.
“We make sure that are confidence levels are at the optimum level for the next game.”
“Our preparation will be as thorough as it always is and we look forward to the game here because of the crowd and the combination of the players makes it a real fortress for us.”
“Like I said though we know it will be tough. QPR have done well on the road and had some good results so it should make for a very good game.”
Swansea are 14th on the Premier League table heading into the January transfer window, where Rodgers said he would be looking to add to his squad.
“The boys have been brilliant since we started at this level,” he said.
“There is no doubt that we need to strengthen in one or two areas but like I say, it’ll have to be the right type of player that can fit in to the group.”
“I don’t see that there is going to be lots of players coming in here, it will just be the odd few that can come in and strengthen what is already a terrific group that has done really well.”
