The Mirror understands Swansea City are readying a move for Reading goalkeeper Alex McCarthy as they prepare for the exit of Netherlands international Michel Vorm.
Vorm, who moved to the South Wales club in the summer of 2011, has been linked with a move to Liverpool as their manager Brendan Rodgers looks to give competition to current first choice shot-stopper Simon Mignolet.
The Royals are set to sell McCarthy to the highest bidder, after the failed to secure promotion back to the top flight at the first time of asking.
The 24 year old, who played in all but two of Reading’s league games during the 2013/14 campaign, would welcome a move to a higher level as he looks to boost his international chances.
He has three caps for the England U21’s, but despite selected by Roy Hodgson for the friendlies against the Republic of Ireland and Brazil, but is yet to make his senior debut.
