Swansea City have completed the signing of Cameron Carter-Vickers on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur, both clubs have confirmed. The youngster was in attendance for the Swans’ 0-1 defeat to Bristol City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday after undergoing the pre-transfer medical.
Carter-Vickers is an American international, and if what Swansea are saying on their website is true, he chose the Welsh club over a number of other interested sides in the Championship. He only has only made four appearances for his parent club, all in 2016/17, two in FA Cup and League Cup each. He spent half of last season on loan at Sheffield United where he scored the only goal of his career so far, and the other half with Ipswich Town.
The 20-year-old centre-back now relishes the prospect of wearing the Swansea shirt for a season after signing a new three-year deal with Spurs this summer, and Spurs manager Maurizio Pochettino feels the move will benefit the player a lot.
