Brendan Rodgers expects Chelsea youngster Josh McEachran to join Swansea City on loan until the end of the season.
Rodgers has monitored the England under-21 international’s progress since his time as a Chelsea youth coach and is hopeful McEachran, who signed a new five-year contract to stay at Stamford Bridge, will move to the Liberty Stadium.
“Hopefully we can get that agreement confirmed in the next 24 to 48 hours. We’ve obviously made an enquiry,” he told talkSPORT.
“He’s an incredible passer of the ball.”
“And I know the England set-up have very high hopes for him as well.”
“He’s a kid who can create chances and has wonderful vision on the ball, he fits perfectly into our team.”
If McEachran, 18, does join the Swans he will be their fourth signing of the January transfer window.
Iceland midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson, Northern Ireland under-21 striker Rory Donnelly and French defender Darnel Situ all moved to the Welsh club, who are 12th in the Premier League.
