Swiss police arrest 30 fans for rioting

Swiss police arrested 30 people in Basel following rioting in the city centre on Saturday in the wake of Russia's Euro 2008 quarter-final win against the Netherlands, police said Sunday.

Among those arrested were Dutch and Russian fans as well as Swiss nationals.

Some 180,000 fans, including 120,000 Dutch supporters, descended on the northern Swiss city on Saturday for the quarter-final, which saw Russia beat the Netherlands 3-1.
