Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport claims that Juventus are ready to give Wojciech Szczesny a chance to stake his claim for a starting berth.
Many believed that the Polish goalkeeper was signed simply as a back-up to veteran Gianluigi Buffon, but that does not appear to be the case.
Namely, with the Italian shot-stopper almost certain to retire at the end of the season, Szczesny will be given an opportunity to prove he can be a worthy successor to the club icon.
The 27-year-old will, therefore, get plenty of first team opportunities this season as the club officials want to see him in action before making their decision.
Paid around €15 million in the summer, Szczesny has already made two Serie A appearances, keeping clean sheets in victories over Chievo and Fiorentina.
