The Independent understands that Wojciech Szczesny is set to return to Arsenal at the end of the season, with Roma not planning on making a permanent move to secure his services.
The Poland international joined the Serie A side on a season-long loan back in the summer, and has played for them twenty-six times in all competitions.
However, the Rome side have opted against extending his stay, instead making a move for Internacional shot-stopper Alisson.
Prior to his temporary switch to Italy, Szczesny racked up one hundred and eighty-one appearances in all competitions for the Gunners and was part of the squad that won back to back FA Cup’s under Arsene Wenger, while he spent the majority of the 2009/10 campaign on loan at Brentford.
However, with Petr Cech firmly cemented as the North London club’s first choice keeper, there are huge questions over the future of the twenty-five year old.
