Juventus are in an interesting situation with their goalkeepers for some time now. Gianluigi Buffon had left the club in the summer of 2018 to join Paris Saint-Germain, perperinbut then he decided to return for one last year in Turin. Then he stated that he is still not ready for retirement and in the meantime we had Mattia Perin who was occasionally in goal for Juventus.
But then in the midst of all that, we also had Wojciech Szczesny becoming Juventus’ number one goalkeeper and now his stay at the club could be prolonged. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are set to offer the Poland international a new contract at the Allianz Stadium.
This new deal should tie up the 29-year-old goalkeeper for the next five years as he would be signing a contract until 30 June 2024. His wages should increase too, up to €4.5m a year. Szczesny has started six Serie A matches for Juve this season.
