Szczesny set for Roma return

Wojciech Szczesny is set to join Roma for a second season-long loan, according to the Mail Online.

The goalkeeper temporarily moved to the Stadio Olimpico from Arsenal last summer and racked up forty-two appearances in all competitions last season.

With Petr Cech firmly in place as the Gunners’ first choice shot stopper Szczesny has been allowed to move elsewhere once again but will only go out on loan with a view to a permanent move.

Prior to his move to Serie A the Poland international racked up over one hundred and fifty games for his parent club while he also had a loan spell with Brentford in the 2009/10 season.

He was part of the squads that won back to back FA Cups with Arsene Wenger’s side while internationally he has been capped twenty-seven times for his country with his last outing coming in their opening game of Euro 2016.
