Liverpool confirm Szoboszlai signing
— Liverpool FC (@LFC) July 2, 2023
Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig. The six-time European champions triggered the €70 million release clause the Hungary captain had in his contract with the Bundesliga side, and he’s now ready to take part in the reconstruction of Liverpool’s midfield section under Jurgen Klopp.
Szoboszlai will wear the iconic shirt No. 8 at Liverpool, as he was a big fan of Steven Gerrard when he was growing up.
Milan and Roma to compete for Traore?
AS Roma are reportedly set to compete against AC Milan for the services of Adama Traore. The 27-year-old winger is available on a free transfer, following the expiration of his contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers at the end of June.
The product of the famous La Masia, the occasional Spain international hasn’t quite lived up to the expectations that surrounded him as a young player – his attacking numbers in the Premier League are surprisingly poor.
Spurs plan with Kane
According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur are forging their 2023/24 plans with Harry Kane in their ranks. Despite Bayern Munich’s interest and the claims of his openness to the idea of moving there, the striker hasn’t yet told Spurs he wants to leave.
Nonetheless, Bayern are apparently preparing for a new offensive, readying an £80 million offer, having seen a £70m one rejected.
For the moment, Spurs insist all offers for the England captain are doomed to refusal, but they have put Lille’s Jonathan David on the list, just in case.
Spurs calm for now about Harry Kane’s situation. Ange Postecoglou is planning for the new season with him at the club. He will hold talks with Kane to stress this.

Liverpool contact Chelsea over Colwill
Having signed Szoboszlai in addition to Alexis Mac Allister, it seems Liverpool aren’t done yet with rebuilding their ranks. They have reportedly contacted Chelsea over the possibility of signing Levi Colwill.
The 20-year-old centre-back spent last season playing with Mac Allister at Brighton on loan, and made 17 Premier League appearances for the Seagulls before returning officially to Stamford Bridge on Saturday. His talent has attracted attention from other clubs as well, though the Blues maintain that he isn’t for sale for the time being.
Colwill’s future is set to become clearer once he has spoken to new Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Newcastle interested in Reiss Nelson
Newcastle are reportedly interested in signing Reiss Nelson.
The 23-year-old winger is currently a free agent after his contract with Arsenal expired at the end of June, and though the Gunners have put a proposal of a new deal on the table for him to consider, he is yet to give a response. It seems Newcastle are looking to take advantage of the situation and boost their own ranks ahead of a Champions League campaign.
