QPR midfielder Adel Taarabt has said in no uncertain terms that he would love to join Marseille in the summer transfer window.
The Moroccan is expected to leave Rangers after they were relegated to the Championship, but he has yet to receive a concrete offer.
The lack of interest in the player certainly comes as a surprise given that he has largely impressed upon his return to the Premier League.
As a result, Taarabt is ready to consider a move to French Ligue 1 and he has invited his boyhood club Marseille to make a bid for his services.
“The club of my heart? OM! I have not had a direct contact, but my friend Joey Barton has told everyone at the club about me,” Taarabt told Le Parisien.
“If OM want me, I’m going! My sisters still live in Marseille. This is the first club I’ve supported.”
Taarabt has enjoyed a very successful season on personal level last term, managing 5 goals and 4 assists in 31 Premier League games, while creating plenty of goalscoring opportunities for his teammates.
The 24-year-old managed to prove his worth in arguably Europe’s strongest league and it is really surprising that none of the Premier League sides have attempted to sign him this summer.
