Orlando Pirates signing Boubacar Talatou is keen to add to his debut in the Telkom Knockout Cup against Moroka Swallows on Saturday.
Talatou came on as substitute for Isaac Chansa in the 75th minute and impressed for his new employers.
The Niger international told the Pirates website that his debut for the Buccaneers was made more special after they won 2-1.
“I am very happy that I have debuted for Pirates after only a few weeks here because the squad is good and it’s not easy to make the team,” he said.
“I felt incredibly fortunate to wear the Pirates colours in an official match; and the fact that we won on my first game for the club makes it special. It felt great to play in front of a large crowd in the club’s colours, I was touched and I can’t wait for another opportunity.”
“Nonetheless, it’s up to me to make sure that I work extra hard at training to keep the momentum going.”
Bucs coach Julio Leal was also impressed with Talatou despite him playing only 15 minutes.
“I am impressed from what I have seen of him in the videos and from a short time that he has been training with us,” Leal said.
“He is a good player and I think he will add great value to the squad, in the Cup competitions, the League and Champions League because he is one more international player.”
