Taye Taiwo cools off transfer talk
Milan full-back Taye Taiwo says that he is happy at Milan despite reports linking him with a January exit.
The Nigerian defender arrived to San Siro on a free transfer from Marseille in the summer, but has had a pretty indifferent start to his career in Italy.
Taiwo started just two of Milan’s nine games this season, which led to speculations that he may be sold in January.
However, after playing full 90 minutes in the Champions League win over BATE Borisov, the Nigeria international says he is happy to remain at Milan.
“I’m happy to have played a big game and to have been able to help the team,” Taiwo told Milan Channel.
“I’m also happy because I’ve been able to show what I can do on the field.”
The player reveals that he is slowly building his confidence after the slow start.
“I’m getting more and more faith in my abilities in training and during the games; I think you can see that when I play.”
Hernan Crespo plans Parma exit
Argentine striker Hernan Crespo has revealed that he will probably be leaving Parma at the end of the season.
The veteran forward has been struggling with injury from the start to the season and made just two substitute appearances in Serie A this term.
Crespo is now ready to admit that he is no longer capable of playing at the highest level.
“I’m 90 per cent sure that this will be my final campaign here,” Crespo said at a meeting with one section of Parma fans.
“I’ll then look to try a different experience. I still have the desire to play football, but at other levels.”
The Argentine reveals that he is no longer able to enjoy playing at such a high level.
“As you get on you start to realise that, despite the fact you are still enjoying yourself, you’re unable to take part in every training session.
“That’s why you start to think that it might be time to move on. A future in Asia or America? Why not? I would like to try a new adventure.”
Sneijder’s brother hints at England or Spain move
Younger brother of Inter midfielder Wesley Sneijder, Rodney has cited England and Spain as his preferred destinations.
The 20-year-old is an Ajax player currently on loan at Utrecht, but he has been tipped to follow in his brother’s footsteps.
Rodney Sneijder has attracted admiring glances from big European clubs with his performances for Utrecht this season, and he is already thinking about moving clubs.
However, the player has made it clear that he is not interested in playing his football in Serie A.
“I don’t like Serie A,” Rodney Sneijder told Dutch newspaper NuSport.
“Sometimes I wonder what Inter and other Italian clubs are doing when they are playing.”
Sneijder says he would like to move to either England or Spain.
“I prefer La Liga and the Premier League a lot.“
