According to a recent report from Bild, Schalke manager Domenico Tedesco’s future with the club is in jeopardy following their most recent loss – a 3-0 humbling at the hands of Mainz. The club currently find themselves down in 14th, which is a far cry from what many of their fans were expecting of them this season. The club’s sporting director has already confirmed that Tedesco will be stepping down in the summer, but it appears as if there may be something more urgent on the cards.
At the age of just 33, Tedesco is one of the youngest managers in European football today. The Italian started off well in his tenure as the boss, but now, it seems as if it’s all proving to be a bit too much for him.
If Schalke does decide to cut the ties, then they’ll need to bring in a replacement pretty quickly given how precarious their position in the league currently is.
