Former Chelsea assistant Henk ten Cate has been linked to the same job at Greek side Panathinaikos.
Dutch newspaper ‘Algemeen Dagblad’ reports that Panathinaikos and Ten Cate are planning to talk about a possible cooperation later this week.
If Ten Cate joins the club, he will be assisting Danish manager Michael Laudrup, who recently signed a deal with the Greeks.
Last week, Ten Cate was surprisingly sacked by Chelsea as all potential candidates for the London job demand to bring along their own technical staff.
Ten Cate began his career as coach at Go Ahead Eagles in 1988, and has managed many other teams since. After a three-year stint at NAC Breda, the Amsterdam-born manager joined FC Barcelona as assistant manager in 2003.
Three years later, he took the reigns at Ajax only to join Chelsea – again as assistant – earlier this season.
