(GSM) – An injury-time equalizer by Santiago Silva gave 10-man Vélez Sarsfield a 1-1 draw at Chilean side Colo Colo in the Copa Libertadores on Tuesday.

After a scoreless 57 minutes of play, Colo Colo took the lead when Esteban Paredes broke through a porous visting defense before slotting past goalkeeper Marcelo Montoya.

Two minutes later, Víctor Zapata was sent off, giving Colo Colo what seemed to be a clear path to victory at home.

But three minutes into stoppage, Silva’s powerful shot eluded Francisco Prieto to give Vélez an unlikely, dramatic 1-1 draw.

Vélez top Group 7 with seven points from three games while Colo Colo are third on four points. The two sides meet again next Wednesday in Argentina.
