Record has learned that Sporting are confident of completing a deal to sign Colombian forward Teo Gutierrez from River Plate.
The Lions have made their interest in the 30-year-old concrete after he informed his employers that he would be leaving the club this summer.
Sporting are now trying to agree on a transfer fee with the Argentine giants, and they don’t think they will have any problems persuading Gutierrez to join.
The Colombia star wants a three-year deal worth €1 million per season, similar to the contract new signing Bryan Ruiz signed few days ago.
While enjoying a short spell with Trabzonspor some five years ago, Gutierrez has spent the majority of his career in South America, having represented Baranquilla, Junior, Racing Club, Cruz Azul and River Plate.
He has been in excellent form of late, bagging 15 goals in last 20 league appearances for the Millionaires. Gutierrez has been capped 43 times by Colombia and score 14 goals.
