Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has heaped praise on international teammate Leon Goretzka, who is being heavily linked with a move to Camp Nou.
Considering that his contract is due to expire at the end of the current campaign, chances are that the attacking midfielder will soon be leaving Schalke for greener pastures.
According to reports, Bayern Munich and Barcelona lead the chase for the 22-year-old footballer at the moment.
The Catalans goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen was full of praise for Goretzka and he feels he would be a good signing for the club.
“Leon is a fantastic player. I like him as a footballer and as a person. He has his head screwed on and some excellent footballing qualities. He could play for a big team in Europe,” ter Stegen told WAZ.
“What I’ve seen with the national team has been good. And I am sure he will improve in the future. I don’t know where he will end up, maybe he stays at Schalke, but he would be a good signing (for Barcelona).”
Leon Goretzka has so far scored 4 goals in 9 Bundesliga games this term, while netting 6 times in 12 Germany caps.
