Ter Stegen undergoes Barca medical; Milan line up Santon swoop

hot-transfer-newsTer Stegen undergoes Barca medical

German newspaper Bild understands that Barcelona have all but agreed to sign Borussia M’gladbach goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The Catalans have looked at a number of high-profile shot-stoppers in a quest to find a perfect replacement for Victor Valdes and they seem to have decided to sign the Germany international.

According to Bild, Barcelona have had a €12 million offer accepted for the 21-year-old footballer and they are expected to wrap up the deal in the coming weeks.

The same source has revealed that the Catalans medical team was in Monchengladbach last week to perform a secret check on the goalkeeper.

Despite his fragile age, Marc-Andre ter Stegen already has 96 Bundesliga appearances to his name and is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most talented goalkeepers.

His suitors Barcelona suffered a real blow to their La Liga title hopes as they were beaten by Real Sociedad, with the Catalans now 6/4 for the league trophy.

Milan line up Santon swoop

AC Milan are readying summer bid for Newcastle full-back Davide Santon, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

The Rossoneri boss Clarence Seedorf has made it clear that Mattia De Sciglio is his first choice right-back, which is likely to push Ignazio Abate closer to the exit door.

As a result, Milan will be signing a new right-sided defender and they seem to be hot on the trail of Newcastle’s Davide Santon.

The former Inter Milan full-back has proved his worth in English Premier League, but it is believed he would be tempted by the opportunity to return to Italian Serie A.

Davide Santon, 23, has so far made a total of 80 Premier League appearances for Newcastle and scored one goal in the process.

The Magpies finally returned to winning ways thanks to a last-gasp goal against Aston Villa, but they are no less than 21/10 to defeat Hull City at KC Stadium.

Ajax close on Dutch wonderkid

Ajax are set to complete the signing of Dutch forward Richairo Zivkovic from Groningen, De Telegraaf has revealed.

Sporting director Marc Overmaars recently confirmed the Amsterdammers were interested in signing the 17-year-old attacker and it appears the two clubs are already on the verge of reaching an agreement.

De Telegraaf understands that Groningen are prepared to accept the latest offer of €2.5 million that will also see them earn 10% of the player’s future sale.

Meanwhile, Zivkovic will sign a three-year deal with the Dutch giants since that is maximum length of contract allowed for players under the age of 18.

The talented forward has scored 5 goals in 20 Eredivisie appearances this season, although he only started five of those games.

He has been followed by a host of Europe’s top clubs, but ultimately opted to remain in the Netherlands and sign for Ajax.
