(GSM) – John Terry is convinced Chelsea will turn it around against Internazionale and end Jose Mourinho’s bid for Champions League glory, next Tuesday.
Mourinho’s Inter will arrive in London on Monday holding a 2-1 advantage from the first-leg of their last-16 tie at the Giuseppe Meazza.
The Portuguese manager will return to Stamford Bridge for the first time since he left the Blues in September 2007.
Terry is confident Chelsea can overcome Inter’s slender lead and reach the last eight of the tournament at the expense of the ‘Special One’.
“Returning to Stamford Bridge with a one-goal deficit and an away goal against the Italian champions is a starting point most sides would take and this side believes we can turn it around,” said Terry.
“We are going for three trophies right now and every game is crucial. Only winning will do.”
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti, meanwhile, defended his former club Milan insisting they don’t need to renovate the squad following their dismal 4-0 defeat at Manchester United.
Milan have endured heavy criticism in both Italy and England after their disastrous Champions League performance, with many labelling the team as old and past it.
However, Ancelotti, who left the San Siro for Stamford Bridge last summer following eight years in charge of the Serie A side, believes the situation is not as bleak as is being made out.
“Milan had the misfortune of facing Manchester United, a team of great quality and who are in a brilliant moment of form,” he told Sky Italia.
“Besides, they were also missing important players like Alexandre Pato and Alessandro Nesta.
“There are youngsters who are coming through such as Pato, Thiago Silva, Ignazio Abate and Luca Antonini.
“Milan are a squad who certainly, like all sides, need some additions, but they are not a team that needs to be reformed.”
