Premier League side Chelsea’s shot stopper Petr Cech is not sure whether John Terry will still be a Blues player next season, fearing that the defender could be tempted to join Manchester City.
Big spenders Manchester City, who are determined to create a side capable of challenging the big four and earn major honours, have targeted the Blues captain Terry, as a player who could lead them to silverware.
But the London club have already spurned two bids for their defensive player, with City thought to be readying a third offer which could be worth as much as £40million.
Terry’s silence on the matter hasn’t helped the issue, fueling further speculation.
And Cech admits he would not be hugely surprised if the defender felt the time was right for a fresh challenge.
While the Czech goalkeeper believes Terry’s heart still lies with Chelsea, he is already contemplating life at Stamford Bridge without one of its favourite sons.
“Sometime people want to have a new challenge,” he told Sky Sports News.
“They want to go on to different adventures, you never know.”
“It comes from the personality. It has also been the case JT has always wanted to stay at Chelsea – it’s in his heart.”
Carlo Ancelotti is due to face the press at 10am on Monday morning where he is expected to field calls on Terry’s future.
