(GSM) – England defender John Terry has hailed the influence of Fabio Capello on the team as they head into the World Cup. Having won nine games out of 10 in the World Cup qualifiers, Capello has the faith of the squad.
And Terry believes the 63-year-old’s disciplinary approach has transformed the Three Lions into a feared team. Moreover, Terry emphasized that Capello has given the team an impressive tactical flexibility.
Terry said: “He’s been great, his experience has shown. He’s made some changes late in games to alter tactics, our formation or shape and the way we play.
“We have that variety now where we can chop and change in mid-game as well as having his input at half-time and on the training field.
“He’s really impressed myself and the others with training techniques and his ideas and it’s all been good since he’s been here.
“So, of course, he can be the difference in right moments. I don’t think anyone has come right out and said ‘We’re going to win the World Cup’. But we have a good chance.
“We have a good game plan. Maybe where we’ve gone wrong in the past is players coming out and saying we can do this, we can do that. This time it’s down to us to show it as the tournament progresses.”
