Carlos Tevez could remain at Manchester City if his family moves to England, according to the striker’s agent.
The long-running saga of Tevez’s tenure at the English Premier League club looked set to reach a conclusion when the Argentina international announced after the final game of the season he would seek to leave City.
It is the second time the former Manchester United and West Ham striker has announced his intention to quit City, with the 27-year-old having handed in a transfer request in December only to later withdraw it.
Tevez’s family do not live with him, but agent Kia Joorabchian told Sky Sports on Friday that the player could yet continue at Eastlands if his family join him in Manchester.
“It’s difficult to talk about offers. Carlos is a big player who will attract big clubs,” Joorabchian said of his client, who hit 23 goals in all competitions for City in the 2010/11 season.
“He personally has had a very good season at City. He’s happy with the current situation at City.”
“He’s sorted out his problems with the directors at City. That was sorted back in December.”
“I think it all boils down to his family. If they feel comfortable about moving to Manchester then there’s every chance he will stay at Manchester.”
“He was one of first to join this project. He had ambitions to get City to the Champions League and win a trophy.”
“He has helped them do that.”
Tevez has been linked with moves to both La Liga runners-up Real Madrid and Italian giants Inter Milan, as well as a return to Argentina.
