Tevez could stay in Premier League, says his agent

Carlos Tevez’s agent insists the Manchester City striker still has a future in English football and would welcome a move to another Premier League club.

The Argentina international is out of favour at his current side after apparently refusing to come on during City’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich last month.

He was subsequently fined four weeks’ wages (later reduced to two) on top of an initial two-week suspension.

Manager Roberto Mancini has made no secret that he is not interested in featuring the former Manchester United player again in his first-team plans following the fallout in Germany and speculation has followed over where the striker would move to, but his agent Kia Joorabchian claims a transfer abroad is not his only option.

“His family are now living in England, so he’s quite happy and settled,” Joorabchian said.

“He had some problems about being away from them before, but they are with him now and everything is fine. He’d be happy to move to another Premier League club.”

Joorabchian also insists that Tevez did not refuse to come on for the Manchester outfit during their Champions League tie and says his player is having a hard time not being included within the team’s outings.

“This week, the Professional Footballers’ Association rejected the claim that he had refused to come on as a substitute,” said Joorabchian.

“That has changed everything and clarified what actually happened.”

“Carlos was desperate to play. He loves to play the game and always wants to play. Having to sit on the sidelines is very tough for him.”

“It’s not easy for him at the moment, but, in the January transfer window, City will want to get him out either on a permanent basis or on loan.”

“We’ll have to wait and see what happens.”

The player’s former club West Ham have shown interest in Tevez following the alert on the striker’s availability, with manager Sam Allardyce after a loan deal, but Joorabchian insists it is not a move that is on the cards.

“He loves West Ham – but that’s not going to happen,” Joorabchian said.
