Carlos Tevez has insisted all is well between himself and Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini, saying the situation at Eastlands is no different from other clubs.
City captain Tevez reacted angrily, and appeared to argue with his Italian boss, after he was substituted late on having scored the only goal in the 1-0 Premier League win at home to Bolton on Saturday.
The big-spenders may be fourth in the table, just three points behind leaders Arsenal, but the Tevez-Mancini row did little to suggest all was well at Eastlands, coming as it did a day after Jerome Boateng and Mario Balotelli had to be pulled apart at training.
“It is just like any club,” Argentina striker Tevez, who has scored 10 goals so far this season, told City’s website.
“There are both good and bad vibes alike.
“The most important thing is that, as players, we are all pulling in the same direction and trying to do our best for the club.
“I’m happy here. I really am.
“Anything that goes on between us (Tevez and Mancini) off the pitch or in the dressing room stays there and he and I keep on fighting for the club.
“In any dressing room, you are going to have the odd problem, just like within any household.
“It’s just the same. We are part of a family. Sometimes you get problems and sometimes you don’t.
“Everything’s fine when you are winning, but when you lose, a lot of people get a bit down.
“But also you have to consider that there is a lot of pressure within the club which the players are always stuck with.
“Sometimes the odd thing gets out of the dressing room through people who don’t have the best interests of the club at heart.
“It’s not a big deal. You just have to live with it.”
Meanwhile Tevez called on City to demonstrate a “big club’ mentality in a season all at Eastlands hope will end the side’s 35-year wait for a major piece of silverware.
“We have to start believing that we are a big club, get our act together and concentrate, and be strong enough mentally to go five or six matches,” he said.
“It is a case of thinking about it properly and getting our mindset right in order to get those half-dozen wins in a row which will give us that belief that we can be champions.”
Tevez added he was inspired by the passion of City’s loyal supporters.
“I really like the desire the fans have to win something, and I sense it,” he said. “It gives me a lot of strength.
“I know it is hard for people to go week-in, week-out, it can be expensive and it is not the main priority in life, but they make it their main priority.
“That motivates me and we all want to do the same thing – to make history and win trophies at City.”
